¡Bienvenido!

Ohhsome! where I chronicle this bizarre, beautiful, and often very weird journey I’m on. Currently I am in Chile for a life changing quest in search of a place called home...

I believe travel is the greatest teacher. Travel and culture shock are somewhat second nature to me now! English is not my first language and trying to muddle my way through Spanish.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong the great experience

I soared high over the South China Sea, I knew that there was no turning back.

Hiking in Cerro San Cristóbal

San Cristóbal is a big hill in the middle of Santiago which functions as a park.

Valparaiso First Impressions

Valparaiso is one of Chile’s most important seaports and UNESCO World Heritage site.

Why Chile?

Many consider Chile to be the Switzerland of the south minus the blue eyes and blonde hair of course. If you have never been to Switzerland I can sum it up in three words; prosperous, picturesque, and very tidy.

  • Chile belongs to the safest countries in South America. Foreigners can move freely in Chile.
  • Chilean are friendly and calm people
  • A country of vast climate extremes (farther north hotter and drier the climate, as you head south, you’ll see a cooler and wetter climate)
  • Chile offers a healthy quality of life and you are very close to nature.
  • A very stable country and has great quality of life.
  • Chile has some of the most advanced healthcare in Latin America, with modern clinics and state-of-the-art equipment.
  • Good transportation systems
  • Inexpensive domestic (maid) and professional services (electricians, tailors, barbers, gardeners, etc.)
  • Natural beauty and ability to get out of town to enjoy it often and without exorbitant cost.
  • Excellent technological and physical infrastructure.
  • Freedom to home-school
  • Low taxes and controlled inflation

Others will not rank these benefits so highly as I do, in that case, I wish them well in wherever they land.
